Nurturing classrooms where multilingual students thrive

In this news article Carmen J. Melendez-Quintero, manager of multilingual education for WPS, shares her vision to create high-quality bilingual education programs in Worcester.

Funding drives new opportunities

"Since taking her position in the district four years ago, Melendez-Quintero and her team have been working to expand the dual-language program and other language services in the district by pursuing grants from the DESE.

A press release published last week by state Sen. Michael O. Moore, D-Millbury, announced that the district had been awarded a $600,000 grant from the DESE's FY22 English Learner Education Programs Grant."
