Bus drivers are in high demand due to state-wide shortages

A local and national crisis

Lack of access to transportation is a critical barrier impacting youth participation in out-of-school programming. There is a shortage of bus drivers for WPS but also across the state of Massachusetts. Students who used to have transportation to afterschool programs directly from school won't this year due to the shortage. This has limited students’ ability to access after-school programs and creating equity issues. But we know that access to Commercial Driving License training makes a big difference in the recruitment of qualified candidates.

The Worcester Jobs Fund is offering Free Commerical Driving License Training for Eligible City of Worcester Residents! Commercial Motor Vehicle operators are in high demand! Starting wages can range between $17-$20/hr. Limited spots, apply today.
